Post Graduate Education Opportunities for trainees in Paediatric Gastroenterology

Educational meetings

There are a number of national and international meetings that are educational to trainees in paediatric gastroenterology & hepatology. These are listed below. These meetings are in addition to local trainees meetings organised amongst various “grid “ rotations.

It is hoped that within the entire training programme you will have attended the following meetings at least once. You are encouraged to prepare abstracts for presentations at these meetings.

In addition there are two national postgraduate trainees day organised per year, which you should try to attend. One is attached to the winter (January) BSPGHAN meeting and the second takes place jointly with the associates (October).

In addition you are encouraged to participate in local educational meetings within your grid rotations. For example trainees from Bristol/Cardiff/Birmingham rotation have the opportunity to attend Bristol/Cardiff paediatric GI meetings 2 or 3 x/yr and one trainees day for all three centres per year.
