Trainees in Gastroenterology
Trainees in Gastroenterology (TiG) was founded in 1987 as an informal association for senior registrars in gastroenterology. Following the Calman reforms in 1997, TiG membership increased dramatically to encompass all specialist registrars in gastroenterology and we now have over 450 members.
TiG is recognised by the British Society of Gastroenterology as the official body representing trainees' interests and as such we have a member of the committee sitting on BSG Council, Training and Education committees. We also have representation on the Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and SAC Gastroenterology.
