This exciting opportunity is for a full-time post to work in this unique and supportive environment within a busy children’s hospital.
We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic consultant with appropriate clinical experience to join our team of 8 paediatric Gastroenterologists working specifically within the Nutrition and Intestinal failure Rehabilitation Unit.
This post involves a 1 in 7 on-call commitment (non-resident) for Gastroenterology patients when attending providing 24 hour cover for the service. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake senior leadership responsibility for the management of patient care whilst leading a team of middle grade Drs in the in-patient care of children. The on-call consultant is expected to undertake ward rounds at the weekend and on public holidays.
The successful applicant will join the Nutrition and intestinal failure Unit, undertake inpatient nutrition ward rounds across the hospital as part of a multidisciplinary nutrition rare team and run both general Gastroenterology clinics and specialised Nutrition clinics including for children on home parenteral nutrition and those with complex enteral feeding requirements. The successful applicant will also be required to undertake endoscopy list.
Applicants are expected to be MRCHP/MRCHPCH qualified or equivalent, and have extensive experience in general Paediatrics, paediatric Gastroenterology as well as evidence of experience in the field of Nutrition and Intestinal failure Rehabilitation.
